Focus on agribusiness

Agribusiness deals not only with the aspects of agriculture, but also with all areas of the value chain from seed cultivation to distribution to the end consumer.

In addition to advanced scientific modules, the focus course therefore includes modules in the field of business administration, marketing, market research and quality management.

There must be 14 modules from blocks A to D (84 credits) and the bachelor thesis (12 credits) be successfully completed!

Block A

From this area, the following five modules with a scope of 30 credits be successfully completed.

Block B

There must be 4 of the following compulsory elective modules totaling at least 24 credits be successfully completed.

For this, the student has to register for 4 of the modules listed below. After registering for the 4th module, registration for another of the following modules is only permitted if one of the 4 modules initially taken has finally been failed or is considered to be failed.

Block C (key competencies)

There must be modules totaling at least 18 credits be successfully completed in accordance with the following provisions.

Compulsory modules
The following modules must total 12 credits be successfully completed:

  • B.Agr. 0383 Writing scientific papers and publications in WiSoLa and Agribusiness (WiSe / SoSe)
  • SK.FS.EN-FA-B2-2 English intermediate level II for agricultural scientists (B2.2, WiSe / SoSe)


Elective modules
There must be modules totaling at least 6 credits be successfully completed in accordance with the following provisions.

For this purpose, the student has to register for one of the modules listed below. After registering for the module, registration for another of the following modules is only permitted if this module has been definitively failed or is deemed not to have been passed.

Alternatively, modules from the offer of the Central Facility for Languages ​​and Key Qualifications (ZESS) or the university-wide module directory can include key competencies in the range of up to 6 credits must be taken into account.

Block D

From this area there are modules to the extent of 12 credits to complete successfully.

As modules for the Block D all modules from the offer of the Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences that were not counted in blocks A to C apply.
