Maurizio Canetta joined RSI in 1980, then was a trainee until 1987, then editor, moderator, correspondent and editor-in-chief at the «Telegiornale» in Zurich. Afterwards he was Federal Parliament correspondent and producer of the programs “Domenica Sportiva” and “Telegiornale” and in 2007 editor-in-chief of the program “Falò” and the information magazines.

During this time, Maurizio Canetta also directed and produced programs and reports. On September 1, 2008, he took on responsibility for the Culture TV division and in December 2010 for the Culture Radio and TV division. From July 1, 2012 to the end of May 2014, he was editor-in-chief of the information department. He was then elected to the Board of Directors and Director of RSI and thus also to the Executive Board of SRG.
