Roblox introduces Game Design & Coding Resources for remote learning
Free Roblox Studio webinars for teachers and new how-to guides for kids and teens to create a game on Roblox
SAN MATEO, Calif .-- (BUSINESS WIRE) - Roblox, a global online platform that playfully brings more than 120 million people together, today announced a series of free remote learning initiatives to support educators and parents, as well as Roblox education Children and young people learning and exploring from a distance.
Game design and coding resources
The new Distance Learning resource contains over 100 hours of free, ISTE certified content that can be used to teach game design and coding basics in remote learning environments. Educators can learn how to set up Roblox Studio, the free online development tool for building and publishing on Roblox, and Team Create enables students to collaborate on projects. The resource also includes tips on how to set up the virtual classroom, as well as lesson plans for kids ages 10+ and teens ages 13+.
Roblox Studio webinars
Roblox is also launching free Roblox Studio webinars with lesson plans for educators interested in game development. These interactive one-hour sessions are offered twice a month until May and are open to up to 1,000 educators each. Session topics include: Introduction to Roblox and Distance Learning, Digital Courtesy and Online Safety, and Walk-alongs (follow us as a Roblox educator leads you through a specific lesson) for age-based lesson plans. Information on registering for the four sessions or viewing archived sessions can be found on the Distance Learning website.
How to Make a Roblox Game
The new Learn & Explore resource offers a range of own-paced programs for kids and teens to develop their first Roblox games. Beginners can learn the basics of game design and coding with easy-to-follow tutorials such as: B. learn how to build an obstacle course (obby) or design and build a spaceship. For those looking to create immersive environments from scratch, more in-depth tutorials on coding, game development, and design are also available.
Learn & Explore Game Sort
Roblox has also released a new Learn & Explore game to give kids and teens easy access to more educational experiences on the platform. Among the games offered in this new breed are Bird Simulator where you can experience the feeling of flying as your favorite bird while looking for berries and water; and word bomb Here players learn how to spell and type words in a fast-paced, fast-thinking competition against others.
