How can astrology predict a person's future
In the minds of the general public, astrology is still associated with prognosis, if not fortune-telling. But not only in the general public: Many astrologers are also of the opinion that only the prognosis shows the true value of astrology, that the "real meaning" of astrology lies in prognosis.
A reader survey carried out by me in cooperation with an esoterically oriented magazine showed in 1987 that for 62% of those questioned, the desire to get to know each other better was the decisive motive for visiting the astrologer. Accordingly, 83% of those questioned had a character report drawn up, only 58% a prognostic report. In this context, the question of satisfaction with the counseling is particularly interesting: 77% of the respondents found the report completely or at least mostly correct for the character reports, while the figure was 44% for the prognoses.
The obvious unreliability of astrological event predictions reflected in these numbers is certain also one reason why astrologers (especially the younger generation) are seeing a decline in their interest in the prognosis. In addition, there are also reasons from the point of view of those who want to learn astrology: If we are dealing with a variety of methods or systems that are confusing for the beginner when interpreting the natal chart (see Chapter 1), see above the variety of methods used in forecasting increases into the grotesque.
As a rule, new methods emerge when the existing methods are perceived as inadequate. Methods with great "accuracy" would certainly not be constantly modified. The variety of methods is a further indication that we as astrologers are obviously not so sure about the prognosis. However, this actually only applies to the so-called. Event forecasting, d. H. for the view that one can predict concrete events from the horoscope. I want to use an example (which some may have classified as "absurd") to demonstrate why Event forecasting are in principle impossible:
Suppose one person slices another person's stomach. Can you recognize this event from a certain constellation? If so: is it the same constellation if it is a stabbing or an operation? Assuming that this is the case: With this constellation, it is not even possible to distinguish between two fundamentally different actions such as "murder" and "saving life". Suppose the two acts are through various Constellations displayed in the prognostic horoscope: What difference is then precisely recorded by the two different constellations? Do the different constellations reflect that one thing takes place in the hospital and the other on the street? Or that one is done with and the other without anesthesia? Or that one goes on with all the precautions of disinfection and the other without these precautions? Or do the different constellations reflect the different motives of the "belly slicers" (one time to provide help, the other time an intention to kill) or finally the different consequences for the person concerned (after all, it is be Horoscope)? More precisely: What is an astrologically detectable "event"?
If, in the example just given, the doctor carries out the operation without the consent of the person concerned (that would be bodily harm in the sense of German jurisprudence), then it is the same "incident" (operation) as if it were With your consent happens? Every event only gets its meaning through the contextin which it is placed. Let us think of the different types of murder: In war I get a medal for killing a person, provided that he is of the "correct" nationality, in peacetime I am imprisoned. Is that the same event in both cases (people murdered)? Or are they two different events (hypothetically assuming that the perpetrator and victim are the same people in both cases)?
What constitutes "the reality" of a person depends very much on his point of view, his attitude. "The glass is still half full," says the optimist; "the glass is already half empty," the pessimist.
Have both the same or different constellations at this moment. If both same Constellation, then the horoscope is apparently blind to emotional differences, blind to the subjective "truth" of the horoscope owner, then it says nothing about his "experience". But if both various If there are constellations, then there are no clear "events", then the horoscope shows how an event is reflected in the subjective experience of a person, what an event is for this person means.

The last-described view is also the official attitude of the majority of astrologers. Our physical, mental and spiritual development is not continuous in all areas: There are phases for certain skills in which we are particularly sensitive to learning a certain life technique. The vernacular says: "What Hans doesn't learn, Hans never learns again." As a child, we learn our mother tongue "child's play". When we move to another country later, we learn the new language there just as easily, if we have not yet reached puberty. After puberty, however, the "plasticity" of our language development is drastically reduced: We then have to use the new language as a "foreign language" (more or less laboriously) learn. Such sensitive phases of development are very evident in many animals. One thinks of the example of the gray goose of the animal researcher Konrad Lorenz: In his famous experiments with gray geese he showed that after hatching, a young animal perceives the creature as the "mother animal" that it sees first. For one of his gray geese, Konrad Lorenz himself was the mother animal - and she followed him every step of the way.
The development of our personality follows certain rhythms. In some cases, these rhythms are genetically relatively tightly pre-programmed, such as sexual development, but there is also a wide range here (in individual cases children reach puberty at the age of 7, on average in our culture between 11 and 14 years). A young in front puberty will react very differently to a girl who may have fallen in love with him to puberty. The event: "A young girl fell in love with me" then leads to a completely different one for him Experience, an experience that he could not have had before.
But also to at puberty its response will depend on various circumstances. Sure she will z. B. depend very much on which girl it is, but it will also depend on "how he is in the mood", i.e. whether he is currently receptive to this topic.
I am convinced that there are "sensitive phases" for certain developments throughout life: we usually call short-term fluctuations "moods" or "in the mood for something", but we all probably know the experience that certain topics in phases for weeks or months or increase or decrease in importance for entire phases of life. In a sensitive phase we are particularly receptive to certain topics (after puberty the boy suddenly sees girls "with different eyes"), we look (consciously or, mostly, unconsciously) for opportunities to experience a certain aspect of our personality through experiences in the corresponding area of life to develop or to develop further, to become more mature by dealing with this topic. We then perceive all things in our environment that have to do with this topic more strongly (or at all), see things that we have not paid attention to before, suddenly react very sensitively to events related to this topic.
To put it bluntly, the prognostic horoscope does not say what will happen becomesbut what happened should. I understand the prognostic horoscope, like the natal horoscope, as a structure towards which we have to develop in order to be "whole", "whole" or "in harmony with our innermost nature", in this sense "healthy" " to be. In my opinion, the natal chart doesn't say what we do either arebut like us should be, it is an "instruction" and draws from it its fertility for the development of one's own personality: it helps us on the way to self-discovery, on the way to become who we "really" are. I would like to illustrate this thought with a few examples:
A prognostic contact of Saturn with another planet or a field has basically the same meaning for me as in the natal. The contact in the natal refers to a focus in life this person, in the prognosis he refers to a certain (shorter or longer) phase in that person's life. A square from Saturn to moon means: "In this phase you are particularly receptive to expanding or deepening the richness of your world of feelings by adding the dimension of grief and / or pain. These are of course only hints, because the concrete meaning of such a Saturn-Moon contact results only from the consideration of the overall structure, in particular the cosmic situation of the moon and Saturn in the natal. Analogously, I would shift the accent on a trine of Saturn and Moon as follows: "In this phase you are particularly receptive to the experience that you have the ability to adapt your wishes and longings to the concrete possibilities of your life situation, not just renunciation and restriction to feel as something that contradicts your needs, but also as something that helps you to understand the deeper meaning, the actual core of what you are longing for. You may feel that seriousness and a certain amount of restraint corresponds better to your current state of mind, is more consistent than exuberance and the search for distraction.
These general interpretations can of course be more concrete if you include the positions of the signs and fields of the moon and Saturn and they can usually also be related to very specific life situations if you know the life background of the horoscope owner and can take it into account in the interpretation. The difficulty with this kind of access to the horoscope is probably that the client is in a situation in which we too have the feeling that "fate" has already burdened him with too much of the Saturnian and our admonition to allow these experiences to go on could only seem cynical.
In this case, it can be helpful to check with the client to see whether, at an early stage of the situation in which he is now, he may not have contributed to an escalation in an attempt to avoid Saturnian experiences, which would only lead him into it Situation he is in now. As a rule, the client does not need to make a decision first, Saturnian experiences to seek out, but they seem to impose themselves on him anyway (mostly against his will). This experience is probably the cause of the subjective conviction of many colleagues that the horoscope shows what is happening after all - and not just what is supposed to happen.
But the fact is that there is a force in the soul of every person which urges him to fulfill his being. The impulses resulting from this force are seldom in harmony with what the person is deliberately strives (except for the wise), because our conscious strivings are seldom oriented towards our own being full to develop but focus on some dominant Desires (each with a slightly different composition) such as need for tenderness, sexuality, independence or freedom, sovereignty or power, reputation or fame, etc. to be satisfied. And the fact that certain constellations often lead to similar events has less to do with the fact that these constellations are indicators of these events than with the fact that most people live out the impulses that arise from within, with little imagination according to the patterns customary in their culture.
I would now like to interpret a Jupiter transit as an example, for reasons of comparability it should first be a Jupiter-moon trine: "In this phase you are particularly sensitive to the possibility of feeling happy (and this even under 'objective 'maybe adverse circumstances), because you can experience the things you need as meaningful and fruitful for your development. Your longings are in line with what you think from your deepest inside to be' good '. Enjoy! If it is an unusual feeling for you: Try to gain trust and still allow it unreservedly. Treat yourself to something and savor the experience of being good with yourself and other people. Feel the kindness in you and try to find the deeper meaning of joy to understand or to suspect. "
Analogously, I would shift the accent when interpreting a square from Jupiter to the moon as follows: "In this phase you are particularly sensitive to the search for 'happiness', whereby it is important for you to deal with the question of where yours Longings, your 'neediness' may hinder the full development of your personality in its entirety. You may experience this conflict as a 'value conflict', you may feel that values of 'objectively' equal rank can conflict with one another to reconcile the things that 'do you good' (in a directly beneficial sense, also in the sense of wellbeing) with the things that 'do you good' (in the sense of growth, promoting the development of all aspects of your personality) . "
One could perhaps misunderstand the previous examples so that an astrologer should persuade the client to adopt a fatalistic assumption of his living conditions, even where these may need to be changed. This misunderstanding can perhaps be cleared up with another example: In the case of a trine from Saturn to Mars, for example, I would recommend that people reflect on their power to resist, and in the case of an opposition between Pluto and Mars perhaps even on their destructive potential. The same applies to the prognosis: It is a matter of doing justice to the wholeness of your own person at every moment, expressed in the wholeness of your own horoscope, including the prognostic horoscope, the different aspects of your own personality, the different striving for a uniform expression to merge with your own individuality. This is "the art of living", the true "art of living", and the horoscope can help us to become true "artists of life".
