Questions about your personality

Of course, HR managers also want to know what type of person is behind the application. That's why they ask questions that go beyond the technical and illuminate you as an individual. Questions about your motivation

Apart from your professional qualifications, your motivation is also relevant for the HR manager. After all, it makes a big difference to him whether the applicant has found his dream job in the position or is only looking for a temporary solution. Your answer also shows whether and how much you are dealing with your professional future and what specific ideas you have.

  • Why did you apply for this position?
  • What are your goals in this job?
  • Would you be ready to move for the advertised position?
  • Why did you quit your old job?

Quirky questions - the unexpected often comes up!

There are questions that make it very clear why they are being asked. Every now and then, however, the HR managers dig up somewhat dubious methods from their repertoire to lure applicants from the reserve. For some questions, your answer is less important than your reaction. Absurd questions like the following should show the HR manager whether you can stay calm, professional and self-confident even under stress.

  • If you were an animal, which one would it be?
  • Are you a smoker or an alcoholic?

Warning: some questions are taboo!

As an applicant, it is good to know that you will not let yourself be pummeled like Swiss cheese have to. That is, at least not quite. Because some questions are so personal that your conversation partner is not allowed to ask them. The reason: They want to prevent discrimination. As soon as the HR manager begins to be interested in these areas of your life and you find that inappropriate, you no longer need to answer questions:
