Doctor Strange 2 and more: New theatrical releases due to the Corona crisis

The corona crisis throws up several publications of Marvel's phase four. Not only "Doctor Strange 2" will be postponed.

The corona crisis continues to force major film productions to open later in theaters. This now also affects some blockbusters from phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as reported by the US industry journal "Deadline", among others. Sony Pictures announced that the third "Spider-Man" part in the series with Tom Holland (23) will be moved from July 16 to November 5, 2021. According to Disney, this in turn means a later date for "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness". The second solo adventure with Benedict Cumberbatch (43) as "Doctor Strange" should therefore only start on March 25, 2022 in the USA.

"Thor: Love and Thunder", however, comes earlier

Another longingly awaited film highlight that is affected by the effects of the corona pandemic: The fourth part of the "Thor" saga by Oscar winner Taika Waititi (44). "Thor: Love and Thunder" is slated to start in US cinemas a week earlier, on February 11, 2022.

The next Marvel film to be released in cinemas in Germany is "Black Widow" on November 5, 2020. "The Eternals" is to be released in Germany on February 11, 2021. "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" is announced for May 6, 2021. "Black Panther 2" is planned for May 2022, "Captain Marvel 2" for July 2022.
