How do I network as an intern

internship

Copying and making coffee? Please do not! During your internship you will work as a full team member in day-to-day business and on projects. In addition, you have a wide range of opportunities to think outside the box in your department.

  • In addition to providing support in day-to-day operations, you will take on responsibility for your own project and can demonstrate your talent here
  • You also take part in presentations from other departments, for example the "Intern Day"
  • With the “Double-In-Program” you can spend a day at the side of another intern in a different area. As a marketing intern, you will also get to know controlling, for example. In this way, we encourage cross-departmental thinking and working as early as the internship.
  • You get a variety of opportunities to build up and expand your network: online in our internship community, on internship days and on many other occasions.

Framework conditions: flexible and international

The dates for our internships are flexible and not tied to the course of the semester. It is best to apply four to six months before your preferred date, as many positions will be filled by then. You can find all offers in our job database.

At the headquarters in Düsseldorf and Hamburg alone, 500 interns from all over the world gather their first experiences as Henkel employees every year. Since employees from over 70 countries work at the headquarters, the internship community is also very international - you can take on many internship positions without knowledge of German.

After the internship: thesis at Henkel

No other environment offers more ideas, inspiration and motivation for a successful thesis than the practice itself - especially when the variety of topics is as diverse as at Henkel. Whether marketing, research & development or controlling - anyone who wants to write their bachelor's or master's thesis in the company after the internship is very welcome at Henkel. Contact us for your project at least three to four months in advance. Make your particular interests and the topics you have in mind as clear as the benefits that your work will have for Henkel. Ideally, you should orientate yourself towards our specific fields of activity. The clearer your focus and goals are to us, the better your chances of convincing your future mentor of your project.
