Emergency Medical Technician - the international training

Since 2016 we have been offering you international training in emergency medicine: Training to become an Emergency Medical Technician in the training levels “Basic” (“EMT-B”), “Intermediate” (“EMT-I”) and “Paramedic” (“EMT -P "). This makes us one of the few schools in Germany where you can complete EMT training as a paramedic.

To register the Australasian Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (AREMT). Registration is recognized in England, the UK regions, Australia, Oceania, Southeast Asia and China and is a prerequisite for being able to work in private and possibly also state rescue services in the countries mentioned.

The following requirements apply to the individual training levels:

Requirements for obtaining EMT-B / I status:
- At least 18 years of age
- Successfully completed paramedic training according to the Federal-State Committee on Rescue Services
- Valid status as BLS provider
- Valid status through an internationally certified trauma course
- Proof of regular activity in the rescue service
- Successful completion of a written and practical exam according to the AREMT standard

Requirements for obtaining EMT-P status:
- At least 18 years of age
- Successfully completed vocational training to become a paramedic, emergency paramedic
- Valid status as Basic Life Support Provider
- Valid status as an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider
- Valid status as Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider
- Valid status through an internationally certified trauma course
- Proof of regular activity in the rescue service
- Successful completion of a written and practical exam according to the AREMT standard


Examination procedure:
The participants must each complete a written exam.
A practical exam must be completed, which is composed as follows:
- Four scenarios from the areas of internal, traumatology and pediatrics, at least one of them as a team leader
- Two skill stations with verification of the professional approach in the following areas:
- Immobilization with spine board, scoop stretcher and vacuum mattress
- Application / security / handling

The cost of the exam is € 400.00 per participant. This already includes the AREMT registration fees.
The language for the written exam is English.
