How do I cancel a ticket on IRCTC

Can I get a refund from the IRCTC?

I will go to Manmad after * * we are 4 people, 1 of whom got his ticket confirmed via the IRCTC portal for Indian Railways, although another 3 are on the waiting list of CKWL / TATKAL We all want to travel together, but I'm not sure we'd get the confirmed tickets for sure by tomorrow. My question is that we get the full money back when we apply for tickets through the IRCTC portal but only one has been confirmed and the other 3 have not.

EDIT: Current status TABLE PREPARED - 1 ticket confirmed and 3 waiting lists. I didn't get a refund for the waiting list tickets either!

Well, I got a mail from the IRCTC and is following your response.

Dear customer, with reference to your PNR number: 8221438 *** we regret to inform you that a refund is not allowed as communicated by Railways by means of the letter BNR230214V61091. The reason for this is: "There is no refund for TATKAL CONFIRMED tickets."

If you need further assistance, please email us at [email protected] Regarding TDR TEAM

My answer -

There were 4 tickets in total, only 1 of which was confirmed and the remaining 3 were on the waiting list. Because the 3 waiting list tickets were not confirmed. I am entitled to a refund for these 3 tickets.

Booking details: PNR No. 8221438 *** Train No. 12165 Train name LTT BSB SUP EXP From MMR to ET Date 17-2-2014 Boarding point of class SL
MMR reservation up to ET Quota Tatkal

Greetings, Gauraw

I called IRCTC customer service and they said, "It is necessary to cancel all tickets, not just that confirmed."The ticket would not be automatically canceled ("the entire Tatkal ticket is returned for cancellation within six hours before the scheduled departure of the train or up to two hours after the actual departure of the train.").

If you cancel your tickets, you will be refunded for three people minus the staff fee of INR 30 each.

You will not receive a refund for the confirmed ticket (one person on your ticket) because you made the booking under Tatkal quota (This assumption is based on the fact that the other people on your ticket are under CKWL, the waiting list for Tatkal Quota). .

Even if you do not cancel your ticket and the remaining three seats are not confirmed and remain on the waiting list, the tickets for the three will be automatically canceled and the remaining amount will be refunded to the account that you used to book the tickets.

How long does it take for waiting list tickets to be refunded?

@GaurawYadav There is no official time limit from IRCTC but I received my final refund within 2 days. Quote from the IRCTC website: "The IRCTC payment comparison team works around the clock. IRCTC does not guarantee the accuracy or timeliness of the refunds received on the loyalty card / bank accounts. This is due to the large number of organizations involved in processing Online transactions, problems with the currently available internet infrastructure and business days / holidays of financial institutions. "

Find out about the 3 waiting tickets for the Tatkal contingent.

If you have a PNR for all passengers (that's one ticket for all (4) passengers) you will be refunded minus fees as per the rules

"Refunds on Tatkal tickets:

No refund of the fare is permitted for confirmed Tatkal tickets. In the case of a Tatkal ticket on the waiting list, the ticket price will be reimbursed in accordance with the rules for unused waiting list or RAC tickets. If, on a Tatkal party ticket or a Tatkal family ticket issued for travel with more than one person, some people have confirmed the reservation and others are on the waiting list, a full refund of the fare minus the clerks is also permitted for confirmed passengers if this is true The entire Tatkal ticket is handed in for cancellation within six hours before the scheduled departure of the train or up to two hours after the actual departure of the train. "

I called IRCTC customer service and they said, "It is necessary to cancel all tickets, not just the confirmed ones (for this particular scenario)." The ticket is not automatically canceled ("The entire Tatkal ticket should be returned for cancellation within six hours before the scheduled departure of the train or up to two hours before the actual departure of the train.").

What I did wrong was that I thought if I canceled the confirmed ticket, all tickets would be canceled as all tickets have the same PNR number. I think IRCTC's guidelines suck and it's a way to make money from users. Logically, this directive doesn't make sense to me and I think it should be changed.
